                                        About me

I'm a qualified Pilates & Yoga teacher and also a Creative Art Therapist, and artist.  I'm originally from latin America, and I've lived worked and study in New York, London and Barcelona. For many years I also practiced art related to the body, from various styles of Dance to Yoga, Bio energetic and Pilates and Martial Arts.

 

 

                                    Estatment

All creative process comes from within and makes us feel pleasure and the joy of living. By being creative we express our natural energy processes in our body and our inner self, but if our body is stiff or blocked as normally happens in the lower back, knees and spine, this natural energetic process of life can not develop, or when the body acts mechanically we lose fluency and feeling and our body gets restricted.
The healthy body is one which is in balance and feels comfortable naturally like those of children and animals in their natural environment, where they express themselves and  seem so natural in their breathing and movement patterns.

In industrial technological societies we exploit our minds so we lose connection with our bodies and we lose the pleasure of our existence. But it is through connection with our bodies we recognise ourselves.

                                                                                  Histoy

 

My background is in Dance and physical theatre which started in Bahia, Brazil, when I was 15 years old.
Since then I haven't stopped using my body creatively, as I started studying   modern and contemporary dance at the Spiral Dance School in Chile, and also practised Flamenco, for ten years and  yoga and martial arts.

At 16 I found my pilates' mentor, who a certificated teacher from the New York Pilates studio, and a professional dancer too, so pilates was a method that I learned as a therapeutic art form. I noticed immediately the benefits that Pilates gave me as a personal training.
Furthermore, my study of movement acquired depth when I discovered the Lecoq method of physical theatre at the International School of Gesture and Image "La Mancha" where I explored the possibilities of enabling the body to express itself in infinite ways.
 
I had to travel to perform in different scenarios around the world, fusing dance, theatre and music. In London I studied Level 4 Anatomy and Physiology in Mat Pilates, Bioenergetics, Piyo (blend of pilates and yoga flow)
 Yoga Face and Garuda in order to be able to understand the body and its energetic processes. My intrest in In London, I was keen to take my wealth of experience in the arts and body therapy to the next level so I studied the Art Therapy Art Therapy at the Association of Art British Therapists. After that, I graduated from IATBA, institute of art Therapy Transdisciplinary, after finishing the Master in Art Therapy interdisciplinary and human development in Barcelona, where I work as an Art Therapist, and as Pilates, Yoga, Yoga Face, Dace, Barre teacher.




 

 

 

 

                                             

 

                             

         

 

 

 

 

                                                   

                                                         

                                          

                                          

 

 

           

My classes are contemporary Dynamic and creative                    

 

 

I have been teaching mat pilates for 13 years as I really enjoy doing it; teaching both groups and individually. My classes are designed to help you to connect with your body and to the ground to give you a solid foundation from where to start moving, and also to strengthen core muscles, provide flexibility and balance, improve posture and unite body and mind. 
I motivate my students to be creative and breathe deeply again, and explore their possibilities of movement, restoring their spontaneity and sensitivity in their motion.

I encourage students to enjoy every movement as when dancing or playing the body releases

tension held in the muscles, and it also helps to refresh and energise the body and mind with its original vitality.

 

Dynamic Pilates  & Yoga

This Lessons is creative, rhythmic, dynamic and energetic; and incorporate element of contemporary Dance, also the fluidity of thai chi and Yoga. In this programme you will strengthen muscles by exercising in a form of dynamic stabilisation and  retraining  the body from the central core (deep abdominal muscles). The benefits are: strength, flexibility, core strength, toned muscles from the inside out, injury prevention, a boosted immunity system and improved mobility and co-ordination.It will also help you to combat stress and anxiety; making you feel more balanced and connected with your body and confident with yourself.   

The physical and mental benefits including: improved condition of your heart and lungs, increased muscular strength, endurance and motor fitness, increased aerobic fitness, weight management, stronger bones and reduced risk of osteoporosis, better coordination, agility, spatial awareness and increased physical confidence, improved mental functioning.

                       

Dynamic Barre 

This contemporary work out incorporate the physicality and grace of dance, difference aspects of  yoga's asanas are brought to establish alignment and stretch in to your body, rhythm and flow are paramount, the barre is use a prop to push and pull to strengthen and stretch the body.  You will feel lighter, stronger, leaner, and get some cardiovascular endurance too. Your muscles respond by lengthening and get stronger. the addition of bands increases upper body works and introduces similar exercises that are perform in the apparatus. 

Personalised lesson  -Focused on Individuals

We are all unique as is our history of life which is reflected in our body. By having a posture assessment and an appropriate consultation it is possible to design a curative programme  ensuring that your classes are tailored to your specific needs so you can enjoy your own journey toward a more healthy state of mind and body.  This programme adapts to your needs in the privacy of your own home in the park, beach or in your place at work. 

 

Individual or Group Sessions

Also if you do not have a space I can rent a studio for you and  you can invite your friends or relatives in this case the class will have a group dynamic but you will still get a personal consultation and the exercise will be adapted to every member as necessary in the class. Fees for classes subject to negotiation depending on numbers and venue. 
 

Expressive Dance !!

This electrifying endorphin-packed class is the ultimate antidote to the daily worries dragging you down. Cardio Creative Dance is a medium impact dance-based fitness program that incorporates Latin, contemporary and pop dance blended together to sculpt and condition the entire body.

The playlist assembles a combination of world music and eclectic sound to create a journey where the workout becomes second nature. You will love the positive vibes as the bass pumps the heart, and moves the hips and you mind is kept young, quick, alert and open!

 

This welcoming class is suitable for all; beginners, or those with injuries get modified options, while experienced dancers will still be challenged. Elements of Pilates are blended into the cardio dance work out so you leave with the holistic benefits of core toning and good posture.

 

 Face Yoga  & Meditation 

In this restorative and personalised class  I will adapt the experience to your needs:) 

Face Yoga is a blend of yoga-like body postures and facial exercises that improves your appearance and a at sense of well-being.
I have designed this experience to be a healing journey for you.
I will start asking what you needs are. 
After we will practice some body yoga exercise to warm and look for alignment in to the upper body, after that I will teach you some facial  acupressure to active the circulation of your face, and we will be ready  to start to practise some anti aging Yoga Face series to relax, and tone muscles. These exercises promote better blood and oxygen flow throughout the face and body making it easier for nutrients to reach the top layer of  the skin. Also Yoga Face help boost Dopamine Levels which is wonderful to our mental health.
We will finish the session with 7 mins of meditation, This  will results in joy, peace, enthusiasm as the level of prana in the body increases and the mind becomes fresh, delicate and  beautiful. It cleanses and nourishes you from within. At the end you will feel rejuvenated, with a big glowing smile on your face.

This class can be done online or in person.
